About Our Founder

Dr. Nahila Ayeva, BS, MA, CHES® DHL, is the Founder and Co-Chair of Women’s Health First and serves as the Executive Director of Strategic Project & Consulting at AYEVA CONSULTING.COM. With nearly two decades of experience in public health education and promotion, Dr. Ayeva's work is driven by an equity lens focus. Her journey in nonprofit leadership management has been guided by a passion for innovative strategic planning and funding development to achieve missions effectively.

 

Dr. Ayeva holds a Bachelor of Science in Community & School Health Education with a minor in Psychology and a master’s degree in public health education and promotion from The City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman, Graduate School of Health Science and Human Services. She Is a Certified Health Education Specialist-CHES. In recognition of her outstanding humanitarian and philanthropic contributions worldwide, she has been awarded an honorary doctorate by GIA Advocacy University at Morehouse. Dr. Ayeva is fluent in English, French, Hausa, Kotocoli, and Ewe, enabling her to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders at all levels.

Throughout her career, Dr. Ayeva has gained extensive experience in community outreach, education, program planning, implementation, evaluation, policy analysis, surveillance, epidemiology, prevention, community healthcare services, and nonprofit leadership management. She is passionate about advancing health equity and leveraging her skills and knowledge to promote and improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations worldwide. Dr. Ayeva is committed to promoting community health and well-being, especially in the area of COVID-19 and Diabetes prevention, across Metro Atlanta Georgia.

To support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal #6 (Clean Water and Sanitation for All), Dr. Ayeva has been empowering Indigenous women in rural Africa by providing access to clean drinking water by drilling solar-powered water wells. This initiative has significantly decreased the incidence and prevalence of water-borne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, trachoma, hepatitis A, and typhoid in Dankpen Prefecture, West Africa Togo, and Maina Bindi, rural Nigeria. These projects are carried out through Women’s Health First, a nonprofit organization that she founded and incorporated in the State of Georgia, USA in 2020.

In her previous role at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. Ayeva provided analytical and technical support to the National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) at their headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. She also led numerous health initiatives for the New York State Department of Health programs, specializing in Maternal and Child Health Promotions with a focus on proper nutrition and STDs/HIV prevention to reduce infant and maternal morbidity and mortality.

Additionally, Dr. Ayeva is multilingual and can fluently speak French, English, Hausa, Mina, Ewe, and Kotokoli. This linguistic ability allows her to work and build relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels. As a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of community health promotion principles and social determinants of health (SDOH), she has a proven track record of success in all her projects.
